I finally got caught up on this!

I noticed that you’d put out an enhanced podcast last week and I definitely liked that. There are only a couple of podcasts I regularly follow that do that, but having the audio stops to jump to, and to some extent having the images, can really help.

Lots of other things to comment on… as a former BeOS user… oh and on Second Life banking, if you get a chance to read The Entrepreneur’s Guide to SL there are a number of good mentions in there of the importance of keeping the in-world economy stable so I wondered whether LL really would “welcome” a big RL bank in, as that could destabilise things.

Now, I’m off to play with Sametime 7.5.1 … I have to do that, because my Notes 8.0.1 ST client has been disabled :-P

  2. Michael Rowe Says:

    Andy,

Thanks for the feedback. We are still experimenting with the enhanced podcast, as many of listeners do not use itunes or a ipod. We are also looking for feedback on a redesign of the website.

The thought on the banking in SL really does seem like an interesting activity. Is Linden setting up for “real world” banking? Are they actually closing down functions? Is this the first step to start requiring GAAP for SL businesses? As we said in the show - Watch this space!!!

    Michael

  3. Andy Piper Says:

If you redesign the website you could try making it easier to click a comment link - at the moment you have to click on a post title to get to a page to add comments.

  4. Andy Piper Says:

    More on redesign:
    - you have About links at the top, side and bottom (overkill?)
    - you don’t mention anywhere obvious that it is possible to subscribe in iTunes
    - you don’t mention what tools to use or what tags to add to get links mentioned on the show
    - blogroll is empty
    - you could host and link to my DN Dashboard widget :-) - make the categories and archives drop-down lists so they don’t take up so much space.
    - on the About page, “gleened” should be “gleaned” :-P

  5. Matt Says:

We really need the ability to set the homepage at dogearnation.com as the page with the most recent podcast. For example, if a user goes to http://dogearnation.com they would get the content for http://www.dogearnation.com/2008/01/27/dogear-nation-episode-37-state-patrol-rest-area/

  6. MichaelRowe Says:

So Andy, what do you think of all of Matt’s Hard work???
