168 - Hugs for Everyone

So it looks like the Hug shirts are not actually purchasable, and anyway wouldn’t work with an iPhone since they need a Java capable mobile.

And in other news… gentlemen… I have a Parrot Ar.Drone! :-)

160 - Talk to the iHand!

Well, we can’t all nod and agree all the time… may as well show my true grumpy colours!

158 - Vile in a Vial

…mmmph…. generally the idea of birthday gift tokens is to get something you’ll *like* :-)

loved the smooth jazz background music in this episode. Bean Traders FTW! :-)

146 - Wildcats Abound

Really enjoyed this even though I couldn’t be on the show! Some great tags from the folks at Villanova… I particularly liked the parallel between AR and Roger Rabbit which I hadn’t really thought about before. Great stuff!

Dogear-Nation - Episode 129 - Creamy

wasn’t that the bit where you were dissin’ on the Sweeney? :-P

Dogear-Nation - Episode 124 - Not Being Cool Enough

that’s weird, the links are working for me.

Dogear-Nation - Episode 120 - Quantum Cables

Arrgh! Someone *has* bought my street on Monopoly…

Dogear-Nation - Episode 118 - Social Privacy

Well, we added that especially for you… hope you liked the *rest* of the show, anyway :-)

Having a facelift

Fair point, thanks for that – the colour was supposed to follow the one from the previous theme though, and the rounded edges are just cleaner / nicer – no deliberate attempt to ape Twitter here but you’re right that there’s a similarity.

Hope you get used to it – personally I like the larger text. I’ll continue to tweak slightly though, so if there are particular features that you liked about the old one, let me know…

Dogear-Nation - Episode 116 - Opting Out

Just discovered that the webcam software that comes on new Dell laptops contains Crazy Talk and lets you make new avatars – very cool :-)

Dogear-Nation - Episode 115 - The Intercasts!

Excellent Bill – thanks! I hope the show notes help you follow stuff up effectively. I do the same as you and listen to podcasts in the car… the only trouble I have is remember which were the links I’d intended to follow up later!

Get stuck in to Dogear Nation

Thanks James… you didn’t have to offer feedback on every point, but we appreciate it :-)

We actually do try to read the tags before the shows but we don’t always have a chance to look at every link in depth, and as you say that can make things more interesting. We tend to put the playlist together right before the show and as the amount of content increases thanks to our listeners, it can be hard to look at everything in detail. Personally I think it works best if at least one of us has read and can discuss a link in depth, then you get that dynamic around explaining the understanding of the content, although it can go less well if we’ve not digested it carefully enough beforehand!

So the length issue keeps coming up. What’s a good show duration? We aim for 30-40 minutes but have run over a couple of times lately. Would you rather we dropped more content or covered content more quickly?

Evidently not an iTunes fan. Fair enough! :-)

Dogear-Nation - Episode 108 - Viralwink

Thanks for the feedback Martin – you can also find the links on Delicious http://del.icio.us/tag/dogear-nation but we try to keep the stuff we choose for the show in the show notes on the blog. We try to hook up with Sandy every now and then as she always has great content to add.

Dogear-Nation - Episode 111 - People Are Very Attached to their Faces

Guys – this was a *really* great interview. Sorry to miss out. Looking forward to seeing the video.

Dogear-Nation - Episode 110 - The British Are Coming

Not sure what was going on with my audio on this show – sounds like I was sitting in a hole. I will beat myself until performance improves.

Dogear-Nation - Episode 107 - Hijacking the Agenda

Thanks Wes – we had a good time recording it – sadly Michael cut most of that out :-) seriously, we always have a blast with the show, glad to hear you enjoyed it.

SWAG!

Thanks for asking! There is a UK store. Cheaper shipping for those on this side of the pond. I really need to update this page to reflect that! :-)

Dogear-Nation - Episode 105 - The Frankensode

Well… yuh! sounds like an average episode. You can do What’s Cool and Final Thoughts too, right? Oh wait, that would be beer, and beer, respectively.

Dogear-Nation - Episode 105 - The Frankensode

I hope you practised your Czech, Michael. We expect you to conduct the whole episode in it :-)

Dogear-Nation - Episode 104 - A Wave of Links

We are having a good enough time without you Michael, yes… don’t hurry back or anything :-P

Testing BoinxTV

Twitter Connect works. W00t.

Andy Piper’s last blog post..Job titles are irrelevant – what is your brand?

Testing BoinxTV

I think… the video is not available?

Dogear-Nation - Episode 97 - Good Friday?

BTW it is possible to pause Google’s collection of history – it looks like I did this some time ago (can’t remember though!)

Dogear-Nation - Episode 97 - Good Friday?

Hmm… commenting as I listen. One point is that I played around with the Wolf3D sources on Linux when they were released, but wasn’t “involved” – the projects I was more directly involved in, once upon a long time ago, were the Unreal Tournament and DooM Linux ports.
