Dogear-Nation – Episode 122 – Ghost Tweeting

Author: Michael Rowe - Categories: Podcast
Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

We must be getting closer to Halloween, since we have death and undead on our minds. In our 3-D Internet section, we have people living out their lives in robotic forms. In our Tech-no-tronic section, we have the ability to will our Twitter account to someone after we die (could this end up causing a bit of Ghost Tweeting?). In our Win-A-Rooni section, we have Microsoft Windows’ attempt at rebirth with Windows 7 and house parties. And finally, in our Social Networking section, ma.gnolia comes back from the dead with a new invite-only social bookmarking tool. I think it’s time to play with the undead and head over to World of Warcraft!

The regular team is back – temporarily – before Michael Rowe heads off on vacation. Michael, Andy and Michael examine the shinyness of virtual world voice chat and new iPhones, but then realise that the GPS system is about to crash. Oh, and there’s a discussion about ten big tech failures too – any nominations for the official Dogear Nation list?

This week’s editor (Andy) would like to apologise for all the Skype chat noises during the episode – the beating will continue until performance improves!

This week we welcome back Andy Piper from our UK contingent of Dogear-Nation. This week we focus on Robots, Games, Phones, and Transitions. This week’s launch titles from E3 for the Wii Motion Fit reduces the potential of burning your face when beach fencing. Will Sony’s MAG suck all the phone out of MMO Gaming? Spore is bigger than all of creation! Are we all bored of the iPhone 3G news, yet? Andy actually bought his on the launch day. Are location based services the real reason behind the GPS in the iPhone? Why does the 3G phone need 802.11 connection for iTunes purchase?
