We go back to the Future and talk about Linden Lab’s new SecondLife Viewer Version 2.0, which comes to us from many of our listeners. We also look at how European privacy and media laws are starting to impact Google and social media sites. Thanks for all the great tags this week!

Andy and Michael enjoy a non-controversial show, with Michael R not able to make the record. While podcasts enable you to build your own radio station, and only find things you agree with, both Michael and Andy agree that it makes you smarter (thank you new tagger rabiakiva). We also get to hear Andy laugh over mouse overs on the twategy site, and then we hear him gush over the wonderfulness of Twitter Lists. He loves it so much he’s created one list. (While editing the show, Michael R. does learn about Google Reader bundles, and agrees this is cool).

The Michaels enjoy a great set of listener tags. Andy has to take customer calls, and is unable to join us this week. We take this time with Andy away, to have a few shameless self promotions and tell you what we’ve been unto in our day jobs lately. Michael M. tries to infect the world with his coughs as he is in the scary eastern parts of Tennessee, but since it all via skype you are all safe — Happy Halloween.

Thank you to all the listeners who make this show possible each week with your tags – epredator, wideawakewesley, lunamoth, billsweeney1, ragtag_2, rickmans and lx5

Dogear-Nation – Episode 122 – Ghost Tweeting

Author: Michael Rowe - Categories: Podcast
Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

We must be getting closer to Halloween, since we have death and undead on our minds. In our 3-D Internet section, we have people living out their lives in robotic forms. In our Tech-no-tronic section, we have the ability to will our Twitter account to someone after we die (could this end up causing a bit of Ghost Tweeting?). In our Win-A-Rooni section, we have Microsoft Windows’ attempt at rebirth with Windows 7 and house parties. And finally, in our Social Networking section, ma.gnolia comes back from the dead with a new invite-only social bookmarking tool. I think it’s time to play with the undead and head over to World of Warcraft!

Michael Rowe gives a quick rundown of Virtual Worlds 2007 conference. With about 1,200 attendees this was THE conference to be at this past week around virtual Worlds. Almost all the big name virtual world vendors and tool providers had booths, while three tracks kept attendees asking and answering questions around the metaverse.
