Hey folks, occasional guest Andy Piper here… thought I’d drop this post in while the Michaels take a well-deserved week off.

We all know that in order to get something we spotted on the interwebs onto the radar for the show, we should add the tag “dogear-nation” on Delicious.

A couple of weeks back, Luis Suarez mentioned that he uses ma.gnolia to share his bookmarks… and I’ve been a sometime user of Mister Wong. Maybe other listeners use those services, too.

So here’s an experiment. I’m certainly still going to be using Delicious, but let’s try a way of aggregating tags from those other services.

A few weeks ago I saw a great demo from Greg Schwartz who runs the Uncontrolled Vocabulary podcast, which introduces to the “Rooms” functionality over on FriendFeed (NB the part which deals with rooms is the third segment of the video). I’ve gone ahead and created a room for Dogear Nation, which pulls in the dogear-nation tag feeds from Delicious, Mister Wong, and ma.gnolia. The neat thing about the FriendFeed room is that people who join it can post comments on the different items, so we can get discussion going around particular topics ahead of the show if we want to.

All you have to do is continue to tag your interesting finds with “dogear-nation” on Delicious, and now on ma.gnolia and Mister Wong too if you wish… and they will show up in the room. Once there, you can add comments and discuss the links further if you have views you want to share.

Take a look, and feel free to join us in the Dogear Nation room on FriendFeed (oh, and I’m andypiper on all four services if you want to follow me, although note that I mainly use del.icio.us for my own social bookmarks).

This week Michael and Michael welcome Luis Suarez (an honorary Michael) to the show to talk about how he has freed himself from his inbox and moved almost entirely to social computing for communications. After a dip in the social web, we move on to Tablet Computing, will it really change our primary devices? Science shows us some history of presentations and a new take on Nova from PBS. Stop by http://dogearnation.com and provide us with your feedback and comments.
