Peepfest 2009

Celebrating all things Peep-a-licious!

Celebrating all things Peep-a-licious!

Peepfest is an annual springtime event held in Chapel Hill’s Southern Village community (discussed on the podcast in episode 95), where a celebration of the Peeps marshmallow confection take a number of different forms, from the classic poetry competition, to a cooking contest, to peep jousting (my favorite!), album art contests, the Peeplympics (including spoon races), a Peepyata and much more.

Great fun was had by all back in April — and while the organizing entity of Market Street Books has closed it’s doors, there are plans in the works for the 2010 edition!

We thought that it would be helpful to better explain this celebration in a video format — hope you enjoy the clip!
